This most recent trip to Trader Joe’s, well… it was supposed to be for two items. Alas, I ended up spending an additional hour browsing the aisles and I figured I’d show ya what I came up with!
I don’t know about you guys, but I have a weird love for peoples grocery hauls. I looove seeing the different food products & I swear most of my favorites have come from peoples recommendations! Give me alllllll of the food reviews! ❤
Every time I go to Trader Joes, the part I look forward to the most is picking out my bunch of flowers for the week. I keep them in a mason jar on my kitchen counter and they just make me happy. ❤ This week… I picked a pale pink tulip bunch ❤
Starting in on my groceries, one of the *two* items I “came for” (hehe) were some sweet potatoes. We love sweet potatoes in my house!
I grabbed the healthiest looking bunch of bananas while I was in that section. Yummm! I’m excited for smoothies with these bad boys!
Every grocery shop, I promise to myself to make more salads at home. A good 75% of my work week, I find myself buying a salad for lunch. This is a bad habit and a waste of $$$$, friends… and I must stop! This bag of lettuce looked yummy!
One of my all time favorite snacks has always been green beans. As a kid, I would follow behind my dad in our garden and eat them as he cut them. To this day, green beans make everything better! Stir fry, pho, fresh for dipping, in casseroles… you name it!
Second to green beans in my favorite veggies list comes cucumbers. All different sizes and kinds! These little Persian cucumbers looked (and TASTED) so good they didn’t even make the picture. 😉
Don’t judge. I’ve officially bought the laziest item ever. These fresh pre diced onions come in handy, though!
Immediately next to the produce was the frozen section, and this is where I did some damage. This girl can appreciate food for the occasional lazy night!
Disclaimer: I am not by any means saying these are the best nutritional choices – these are just what we like in my house! ❤
I’ve been looking for tasty alternatives to a burger, and I figured I’d try two new options.
Chile lime chicken burger? That sounds good! Cauliflower and broccoli vegetable patties? Sure!
Item number two that I made the journey for was our favorite frozen meatballs. A couple blogs back, I blogged about these frozen meatballs that Andrea recommended. I was skeptical having never had frozen meatballs before… but they are SO good! I needed a second bag!
Speaking of second bag… this frozen orange chicken was a hugeeee hit with my boyfriend. Apparently this is one of Trader Joes top selling items, and according to Hector… it is amazing! I’m not a Chinese food fan so unfortunately I’ve never tried it, but I trust his judgement and he LOVES this!
Ugh, my guilty pleasure. One of my deepest guilty pleasures is a good mozzarella stick. These ones are sooooo good.
This pizza also looked pretty yummy! I love arugula, and Lord knows I love cheese, so why not?
While browsing the frozen items, I eyed bags of different kinds of risotto. I love risotto, so I decided to try this mushroom one. Looks good!
My favorite hash browns! ❤
A great tip I learned from watching grocery hauls, is that Trader Joes spices are priced SO affordably and they have a great selection. I needed some salt, and this rub looked interesting. It says its a combination of coffee, peppers, onion, and garlic. I’m excited to try it…
Another recommendation of Andrea’s that turned into an instant classic was this Trader Joes brand tomato basil sauce. So easy, so delicious!
At this point, I was so excited about some of my new finds that I was on a roll. I found this tomato-less corn and chile salsa, and I was instantly curious. This says it’s “a sweet combination of corn, red peppers, onion, and a touch of heat.” I will keep you posted on this!
We love breakfast bars in my house, and I’ve heard people rave about these time and time again. Time to try them out myself. 🙂
Right before I left, I stopped at the refrigerated section. I’ve been loving cooking with ground chicken lately, so I picked up a pack. I love this as a ground beef alternative in my meat sauce that I put over spaghetti squash!
This garlic and herb pizza dough was just drawing me in. I’m excited to make a homemade pizza with this soon!
That’s it for this week! 🙂 If any of you guys have tried any of my new finds, or have any yummy recommendations, let me know! Until next time… 😉
