Hello friends & my new followers! TGIF!
It’s Friday so it’s that time… 52 Week Blog Challenge!
Jenny and I link up every Friday to share our topic of the week, and we’d love for you to do it too. Use the photo prompt from this post, and be sure to let us know!
This week we’re talking about…
my favorite book!
Yay! A post dedicated to my favorite thing – books! I started to read around age 5 and it’s been a wrap ever since. I love books of all types, and reading is one thing thats remained consistent in my life.
I’m going to break this down into a couple of categories, stating with
my favorite book of 2016:
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
Guys, I can’t stress enough – you must read this book. I found this book from Shay‘s 2016 book recommendations post, it was listed as her second favorite book of 2016. True story: I actually tried to get her #1 choice first, but it was sold out at my local Barnes and Noble so I “settled” on this one. 😉
I will tell you guys what I told my friends who have now read (and loved) it – do not read the summary of this book. Don’t read a thing about it. Go in blind. Trust me, it makes it that much better.
This book will stick with you long after you finish it, and Colleen Hoover’s style of writing is effortless. This was the first novel I’ve read by her, and I’m anxious to try another one!
my favorite ‘feel good’ book:
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
I love everything about this book. Those three words, y’all… Eat, Pray, Love. What else do you need?
This is a memoir of author Elizabeth Gilbert’s adventure towards self exploration. I had read and fallen in love with this book long before the epic Julia Roberts portrayed author Elizabeth in the feature film. I did love the movie, but as we all know… nothing is better than the book.
Cravings by Chrissy Teigen
I had to include this cook book in my favorites list today because… it truly is a favorite! Chrissy Teigen, John Legend and baby Luna are GOALS! Chrissy is my favorite person to follow on social media by far, and I love how she put together this cook book. It is written with Chrissy’s infamous outspoken humor flowing throughout the pages and it’s simple to follow for people who aren’t Gordon Ramsey.
I got this for Christmas (thanks Mum!) and have already made 4 things out of it. She covers everything from tomato soup to stuffed cheese bread to John’s famous chicken wings. It all looks and sounds amazing. I’m excited for her next cook book!
I could go on and on listing my favorites throughout the years. I’ve also read a lot of Elin Hilderbrand in 2016, and enjoyed nearly all of it. She’s my go to for girlie beach reads, and bonus… they all take place on Nantucket!
If any of you reading this have good book suggestions…please leave them in the comments!!!!! My favorite way to find new books is through recommendation. 🙂 ❤
I’ll be back next Friday for week 16!
