Life Lately

Life has been so crazy these past few weeks with the holidays and all the events that surround them. It’s madness then in a snap… they’re over. On to the silence of January in New England.

My dad got me a pair of some reallllly, really good floor seats at TD Garden for a Celtics game. He knows his daughter. 🙂 🙂

On Friday night, I left work a little early and we headed into the city for the game.

We stopped for some pizza and beer before the game. Locals tip: food at the Garden isn’t that good and is superrrr $$$$ … eat elsewhere before the game! (beers at the Garden are always the exception ;))

the seats were amazing! 🙂

Jabaal Sheard & LeGarrette Blount from the Patriots were sitting right near us!

It ended up being an awesome game. It was a record breaking game for Isaiah Thomas (52 POINTS!!!) and a historic game for the Celtics franchise. IT had 29 points in the fourth quarter. If you’ve been to the Garden for ANY professional sports game you know – the vibes in that place were incredible! The C’s won 117-114 and it was a great game right up until the end.

Thanks Dad!!

Saturday was New Years Eve. Honestly, I’m not really a NYE fan. This year, we made plans with Hector’s brother and sister-in-law and I was excited because that meant baby Carter time!<3

We cooked up a storm. I made the armadillo cheesy garlic bread from Chrissy Teigens cookbook (yes, I’m still cooking from that damn book. can’t stop – won’t stop.) Shockingly, overall not a huge fan! I need to make it one more time before I can be 100% sure.

We played and laughed and played some more until I looked down and it looked a little like this… ❤ 🙂 ❤

Now I have to tell you guys about (one of) the best things I discovered in 2016.

I’m not a wine expert by any means. I like a good glass of sweet moscato, but can just tolerate a glass or two of red and white. I like to think red wine is an acquired taste, and I’m not quite there yet.

Less than 3o minutes from my house, we have a winery called Nashoba Valley. Nashoba Valley Winery is known for it’s award winning wines and wine tastings, and friends, this wine may be their best one.

It’s called Nashoba Valley Cranberry Apple wine.

This will change your wine life forever. If you like cranberry or cran apple juice, order this wine now. Trust me, it’s unreal delicious and tastes just like juice.

Yet again, I found myself very thankful for bankers hours – I had Monday off.

Now, before I tell you what I did on my Monday off, I need to preface this by thanking Shay for suggesting this book as her second favorite book of 2016.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Guys, this book was unbelievable. I started it Sunday night around 9:30PM and found myself falling asleep reading it because I couldn’t put it down. I slept, and the first half of my Monday looked like this…

Bathrobe and book, I couldn’t be happier. I finished this book before 3 o’clock on Monday. Finished all 373 pages. This was the fastest I’ve ever read a book. I can’t say much without giving it away, but the characters and the plot is one that stays with you. It has an intense, amazing message in the end, and I strongly recommend you guys all give it a try!

Later yesterday afternoon Hector got sick with the flu. It hit the poor guy like a ton of bricks. I spent the rest of my night making a homemade chicken noodle soup and helping the sick boy 😦 I watched the first episode of the new season of the Bachelor with Nick, and I’m not fully sold yet…

Back to work! 🙂
