I am so excited to start these California posts because guys, California was soooo much fun. It’s exactly like how you think of it, but better. I seriously did NOT want to leave.
The day we left, we had a later afternoon flight, and got to LAX around 8:30 Cali time – 11:30 in our brains… 😦
Pretty Jet Blue Christmas tree at Logan! 🙂
Who doesn’t need an airplane bathroom selfie?
I love Jet Blue… I can’t say this enough. This was a 6 hour flight and both ways I was sooo comfortable. Grey’s Anatomy reruns & HGTV could keep this girl busy for hours 😉
The lights flying into Los Angeles at night are gorgeous…
We already had a plan – we were going to land, get the rental car, and get us some In-n-Out. This is a very hyped up burger place based out of California that EVERYONE ‘loves’.
We got our In-n-Out. Plain for me, “animal style” for him. Guys… we didn’t like it.
I KNOW, I was so disappointed! Granted, I’m not a huge burger person myself…but I can at least appreciate a good Shake Shack burger. This…not so much. As far as animal style review – (sadly) a big thumbs down from us.
We were exhausted from travel day & headed to our place to crash.
DAY TWO was my favorite day of all.
We woke up early, got ready, and headed to get some breakfast on nearby Hollywood Boulevard.
Look who I found!
I will say this – I loved LA, it was very cool but I really…reallly….reallllllyy love Orange County. These small beach towns are dreamy.
I did my research and on day two I had us driving about 45 minutes south to a small beach town called Newport Beach.
Newport Beach by day…
We had the sweetest couple who were born and raised on this beach in Newport stop and talk with us and take a few pictures. I can honestly say that every person we interacted with while in California was the nicest, friendliest person.
Then the sunset… this sunset was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I’ve traveled a lot, and seen a lot of sunsets, and I’ve never seen one so beautiful.
When you’re as much of a sunset lover as I am… it’s hard to believe these pictures were taken with my camera. Unreal!
After sunset we headed over to the harbor for a Christmas light boat cruise! I was excited for this… seeing the mansions on the water decorated with tons and tons of lights… it was the best!
Side note – it was about 40 degrees and windy on this boat. We were FREEZING!
We were frozen by the time the cruise ended, and headed home to pass out – our day 2 was so fun!!!!
By the end of the day… I was already in love with California.
