Ulta Haul! [Oct. 2016]

So today is Columbus Day, which means us bankers don’t have to work! Ahhh.. how rewarding those bankers hours feel on these long weekends ūüôā

Unfortunately for my bank account, free time in my language translates to online shopping. I was browsing through my emails this morning when I noticed that Ulta is having their ‘Gorgeous Hair Event‘.

Basically, for each day of the month from October 2nd through 22nd, different hair products will be highly discounted. I figured it was worth the 25 minute drive and yes, yes it was.

From the Gorgeous Hair Event sale, I did pick up the Joico K-PAK Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor.

I’ve been using bleach on my hair working towards a blonder balayage, so my hair stylist recommended a hydrating¬†mask and I thought this one sounded fit. It smells like banana bread and can be used in or out of the shower!

I also repurchased my beloved Living Proof PhD Dry Shampoo. It kills me to spend $22 for a bottle of dry shampoo, but believe me when I say, it is WORTH IT.

The first time I tried this product I didn’t like it. I didn’t believe the hype that it ‘cleans’ the hair along with volumizing it, but friends, it does! However, this dry shampoo definitely is pricey¬†and I don’t use it every time.

Staying on the subject of hair, the final hair product I purchased was the Marula Oil Rare Oil Treatment Light by Paul Mitchell. I go to a Paul Mitchell focus salon so I was already familiar with their Marula Oil line and the benefits of the products.

I was happy to see that they made a ‘light’ version – my hair is very fine and most oils make my hair appear greasy. I’ve been using various types of oils on my ends for years, and was searching for a new one to try. It was on sale so I figured it was meant to be! ūüôā

Lately, my mom has been on a lash kick. She recommends Revlon for those of you girls who are into lashes. Ardell was buy one get one half so I got two to try.

I’ve attempted lashes in the past but never had good luck with them. I always felt as though they were hard to apply and looked fake. My friend is getting married in two weeks so I figured I’d give lashes one more shot!

Last Ulta visit, I fell in love with a highlighter I purchased from the brand Makeup Revolution. The price was so good, and the product was even better!

I figured I’d try their¬†matte blush¬†and hope it was as impressive as their highlighter! Pictured is the color ‘fusion’.

On my way to the register I noticed a display of large weekender style bags. They were the Ulta brand, and came in a metallic gold and a chocolate brown. They were heavily discounted from $50 to $10!

I’m not sure if these were a promotional bag for their hair product sale, but this bag is awesome! It’s huge, zips closed, and has a shoulder strap. It’s the perfect carry on bag or weekend getaway bag. $10? Still so pleased with this purchase.

Overall, I lucked out this trip! Almost all of these purchases were on some type of sale, which justifies it that much more, right girls?

’til next time!
